Not very Dark as far as I can tell
A few years ago I was on a panel with Missoula writer Bill Vaughn. Along with Gary Ferguson and Peter Stark, we were talking about freelance magazine writing. And based on the questions, it seemed that most of the audience wanted advice. I can't believe the panel was at all useful to the questioners. When we weren't being really depressing (advice on paying bills included "Find another income source" and "Marry someone with a real job"), we were self-contradictory (when I finished answering an audience member's question, Gary jumped in with, "I totally disagree!).
It was nevertheless a vastly entertaining panel, because Bill Vaughn is one of the funniest people I had ever met. He didn't really give answers to questions, but they tended to remind him of experiences. So he just told stories. They were hilarious. Everyone walked out happy.
Now I'm pleased to discover that Bill has his own web publication. The Graffature alone got me giggling, and I plan to return regularly to plumb his archives.
I'm always interested in feedback, via info at johnclaytonbooks...
