Housekeeping
You'll notice that I've changed the features available in the bar on the left-hand side of the page. Let me take a moment to highlight some of the new features.
Blogroll: These are some of my favorite sites, the ones I check in with regularly. I finally go around to consolidating them at www.bloglines.com (which I recommend: it lets you know if there's a new blog entry so you don't have to keep checking back all the time), and it automatically exports that list here. So as my reading habits change, this list may as well.
Greatest Hits: For newcomers to this site, I've highlighted some of my favorite posts from the last two years. (Like a '70s album compilation, the term "greatest hits" should not be taken literally. It's just stuff I wanted to find again quickly myself!)
Writers' Websites: They may not be blogs, but they're websites of writers I admire or am currently reading. Worth checking out.
Get this feed: I don't claim to fully understand XML feeds, although I know they help the bloglines site. I've got one in "Atom" format. This blog is now also registered with Yahoo, Feedburner, and Feedster, and you can click those buttons in case you want to use one of those sites for your RSS Aggregation Services. (whew! There's some jargon!) Many years ago, before RSS developed, I set up a syndication services through a Yahoo group. For those of you who signed up, nothing will change: you can continue to receive these posts that way. But I'm no longer recommending this as the best solution, as these higher-tech ones are now available. (And if you would like me to provide a different one, please let me know!)
