When high-ranking non-scientists in the federal government discount their own scientists' findings, science quickly becomes meaningless in policy decisions -- even policy decisions that could be made without onerous government regulations.
Kudos to the New York Times for breaking two stunning stories about Montana in a single week. And shame on the local media -- I don't believe they've even followed up on these items.
