How to bring jobs to Montana?
As Montana's drumbeat for economic development continues, let me propose an innovative solution: legalize gay marriage.
As you can see here, Vermont inns have had great success in getting gay couples to visit for a vacation/wedding. Why couldn’t Montana do the same?
Before social conservatives start carping about morality, remember that during the last legislative session we were inches away from turning Butte into a giant gambling district, in the name of economic development. Montana claims to be a libertarian-oriented state, getting the government out of our lives. So are we going to take advantage of the way this libertarian attitude can make us money? Or is the drumbeat for economic development really just a smokescreen for an agenda that has nothing to do with jobs?
